Mr. Williams has more than 20 years of investment banking, strategic advisory and operating experience in land drilling, offshore drilling, well servicing, coiled tubing, wireline, directional drilling, downhole tools, manufacturing, rentals, offshore construction and services, engineering, and numerous other segments of the oil & gas industry. He advises both public and privately held companies across a wide range of constituents, including management teams, lenders, boards of directors, equity investors, and private business owners.
Prior to joining Carl Marks Advisors Mr. Williams served as Chief Financial Officer, Co-founder and Director of Cretic Energy Services, a provider of leading-edge completion services to oil & gas producers. He led Cretic through its business plan development, fund raising, start-up, growth and execution phases, growing the business to over $50mm of revenue and $20mm of EBITDA run-rate in its first year of operations. He has also led the oilfield services investment banking practices at Macquarie Capital and Tristone Capital, where he served on the executive committee that led the sale of Tristone to Macquarie. Mr. Williams began his investment banking career with Simmons & Company International. Prior to entering the investment banking industry, he held several engineering and operations management roles at Diageo and Pratt & Whitney.
Mr. Williams earned a BS from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is a FINRA Registered Representative. Mr. Williams currently serves as a director of United Vision Logistics, a leading oilfield transportation and logistics provider and previously served as a director and strategic advisor of US Seismic Systems, a provider of next-generation fiber optic seismic data acquisition technology.
